Uniform Expectations for CTE Programs

We celebrate your individuality and personal style. However, each CTE program has specific uniform requirements for safety and to reflect professional standards. Uniform/dress code choices must adhere to the following guidelines set by the Board of Education:

  • Safety First: Uniforms must meet safety standards and not present health hazards.
  • Professional Appearance: Attire should demonstrate professionalism and support the learning environment.
  • Policy Adherence: The school's dress code will help maintain order and protect school property.

Staff will model appropriate attire and enforce the dress code fairly. The Dean will oversee the enforcement of these policies, ensuring a fair and respectful approach for all students.

  • Automotive Refinishing & Collision Repair 

    • Navy blue Dickies style button up work shirt (short or long sleeve)
    • Navy blue Dickies style work pants. Pants must be held at waistline with a belt; no exposed undergarments
    • Solid color crewneck sweatshirt (no hoodies; no logos)
    • Steel toe/safety toe work shoes or boots (no slip ons)
    • No jewelry, accessories, watches, chains (for safety)
    • No tinted safety glasses. Prescription safety glasses required if student wears prescription glasses
    • Long hair must be pulled up or back
    • No hats, caps, hoods, or head coverings of any kind
    • Optional: Great Oaks spirit wear top (no hoodies)

     

  • Automotive Service Technician

    • Navy blue Dickies style button up work shirt (short or long sleeve)

  • Cosmetology

    • Embroidered polo shirt with logo and name; any color (may wear plain long sleeve t-shirt under polo if cold)
    • Black scrub pants
    • Black gym shoes (non-porous)
    • Optional: Embroidered long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt purchased from A-Z Wear

    Polo Shirts and other tops must be purchased from A – Z Wear at 513-923-4662 ask for Gail or Donna and let them know that you need shirts for Diamond Oaks Cosmetology.

     

  • Culinary Arts & Hospitality Services 

    • Polo style shirt; long or short sleeve (no logos)  [Optional: name embroidered]
      • Juniors: solid white

    • 2-3 Chef coats; short or long sleeve  [Optional: name embroidered on sleeve or right chest]

  • Digital Arts & Design 

    • Black polo top; short or long sleeve (no logos)
    • Plain black sweatshirt (no logos)
    • Blue or black jeans or black pants
    • Gym shoe, boots, or dress shoes (no open toe or sliders)

  • Equine & Livestock Management 

    • Solid black or dark colored polo style shirt
    • Solid dark colored sweatshirt or hoodie (no logos)
    • Jeans or canvas material pants
    • Breeches (worn in barn only)
    • Boots with 1” heel—NO STEEL TOE BOOTS
    • Recommended for cold weather: gloves, hat, Carhart style bibs/insulted pants, winter coat

  • Exercise Science & Sports Management

    • Polo shirt (any solid color); long or short sleeve (no logos) OR any color scrub top
    • Solid color sweatshirt, hoodie, or zip up (no logos)
    • Black scrub pants
    • Athletic shoes
    • Nails need to be kept to a regular length; no overly long nails
    • Black, athletic style sweat pants/joggers (no leggings)
    • Optional: Great Oaks spirit wear top

    Please Note: Workout clothes cannot be worn outside of lab. Students cannot show up to school in their workout clothes. They will be permitted change into their workout clothes at the start of lab.

     

  • Health Technology

    • Navy blue scrub top (pullover type, no button or snap down styles)
    • Navy Blue scrub pants (if you are 5’4” or shorter, you may want to order “petite length”)
    • Recommend two sets of scrubs
    • Lab jacket in Navy blue OR white
    • Shoes must be leather or leather like, and cover both heels & toes
      • Example: athletic shoes nursing clogs
    • Returning seniors: Same as above except will wear black, tan, or blue scrub pants; a white, black, tan
    • Optional: Great Oaks spirit wear top may be worn over scrub top.

     

  • Heating, Ventilating, & Air Conditioning 

    • Dark blue polo shirt OR dark blue button up work shirt (short or long sleeve)
    • Dark blue cotton crewneck sweatshirt (no hoodies; no logos)
    • Tan or khaki work pants OR blue or black work jeans
    • Steel toe, leather work boots
    • Black or brown leather belt
    • Optional: Great Oaks spirit wear top (no hoodies)

     

  • Information Technology 

    • Polo shirt in red, blue, or black; short or long sleeve (no logos)
    • Sweatshirt in red, blue, or black (no logos)
    • Black jeans, black pants, or khaki pants
    • Closed toe shoes
    • Optional: Great Oaks spirit wear top

     

  • Surgical Technology 

    • Any color scrub top (patterns allowed)
      • (may wear a thin, thermal style, long sleeve t-shirt under scrubs - sleeves must be able to roll over elbows)
    • Any solid color scrub pants
    • Gym shoes or Crocs (any color)
    • No acrylic nails
    • Limited jewelry (removed during lab)
    • Optional: Great Oaks spirit wear top maybe worn over scrubs

     

  • Veterinary Assisting 

    • Any color/pattern scrub top (may wear plain long sleeve t-shirt under scrub top if cold)
    • Any color/pattern scrub pants
    • Closed toe, non-skid, waterproof, sanitizable shoes (ex:Crocs, Dansko, Sketchers)
    • Recommended for cold weather when taking animals out: winter coat, boots, gloves, hat, umbrella
    • Optional: Great Oaks spirit wear top

     

  • Welding & Fabrication 

    • Grey button-down collar shirt OR grey polo style shirt; short or long sleeve (no logos)
    • Black or grey crewneck sweatshirt (no hoodies)
    • Plain, black jeans
    • Steele toe work boots (no steel toe gym shoes)
    • Due to safety, ALL clothing including undergarments must be 100% cotton
    • Earrings, piercings, other jewelry must be removed for lab
    • Long hair must be tied back
    • No hats in classroom or lab (welding beanies are allowed)
    • Optional: Great Oaks spirit wear top (no hoodies)

     

All labs, with the exception of a few, can also wear any Great Oaks spirit wear as part of their uniform. If your lab does not allow hoodies, you may not wear a Great Oaks hoodie in lab; however, you would be permitted to wear a Great Oaks hoodie during the academic portion of the day.
