Uniform Expectations for CTE Programs

We celebrate your individuality and personal style. However, each CTE program has specific uniform requirements for safety and to reflect professional standards. Uniform/dress code choices must adhere to the following guidelines set by the Board:

  • Safety First: Uniforms must meet safety standards and not present health hazards.
  • Professional Appearance: Attire should demonstrate professionalism and support the learning environment.

Staff will model appropriate attire and enforce the dress code fairly. The Dean will oversee the enforcement of these policies, ensuring a fair and respectful approach for all students.

Diamond Oaks General Dress Code Rules for All Programs:

  • No hoodies

  • No sleeveless tops

  • No leggings or shorts

  • No ripped or torn clothing

  • No open toed shoes, slippers, slide ons, sandals, crocs, heels, or UGG style footwear

  • All programs may wear a black or heather grey crewneck or ¼ zip sweathsirts

  • Great Oaks spirit wear tops are permitted as long as it does not have a hood.

  • No other clothing to be worn over uniform aside from above options.

  • Uniforms must be worn all day long

  • Automotive Refinishing & Collision Repair 

    • Navy blue Dickies style button up work shirt (short or long sleeve)
    • Navy blue Dickies style work pants. Belt required.
    • Steel toe/safety toe work shoes or boots (no slip ons)
    • No jewelry, accessories, watches, chains (for safety)
    • No tinted safety glasses.
    • Prescription safety glasses required if student wears prescription glasses
    • Long hair must be pulled up or back
    • Optional: Great Oaks spirit wear top (no hoodies)

    Please Note: Workout clothes cannot be worn outside of lab. Students cannot show up to school in their workout clothes. They will be permitted change into their workout clothes at the start of lab.

    • Navy Blue scrub pants (if you are 5’4” or shorter, you may want to order “petite length”)
    • Recommend two sets of scrubs

    • Seniors: Any color scrub top and black scrub bottoms

      • (may wear a thin, thermal style, long sleeve t-shirt under scrubs - sleeves must be able to roll over elbows)

    • Closed toe, non-skid, waterproof, sanitizable shoes (ex: Dansko, Sketchers, leather or leather-like athletic shoes)
    • No acrylic nails
    • Limited jewelry (removed during lab)

    • Any color/pattern scrub top (may wear plain long sleeve t-shirt under scrub top if cold)
    • Any color/pattern scrub pants
    • Closed toe, non-skid, waterproof, sanitizable shoes (ex: Dansko, Sketchers, leather or leather-like athletic shoes)
    • Recommended for cold weather when taking animals out: winter coat, boots, gloves, hat, umbrella
    • Optional: Great Oaks spirit wear top (no hoodies)

  • Welding & Fabrication 

    • Grey button-down collar shirt OR grey polo style shirt; short or long sleeve
    • Plain, black jeans
    • Steel toe work boots (no steel toe gym shoes)
    • Due to safety, ALL clothing including undergarments must be 100% cotton
    • Earrings, piercings, other jewelry must be removed for lab
    • Long hair must be tied back
