October Student of the Month Recognition

Each month, different lab programs have the opportunity to recognize one junior and one senior student at our Student of the Month Luncheon. Instructors select students who have demonstrated exceptional passion, hard work, and dedication within their program, both in and out of the classroom.

The luncheon is planned, prepared, and served by our outstanding Culinary students and their instructor, Chef Nared.

For the month of October, we proudly celebrated students from our Surgical Technology, Health Technology, and Exercise Science programs. These students have distinguished themselves through their commitment to learning, positive attitude, and dedication to achieving their career goals.

Congratulations to all of our October Student of the Month honorees. We are proud of your accomplishments and look forward to seeing your continued success!

Best Point

Best Point Behavioral Health has begun conducting a series of social-emotional skill groups at your child’s school. The groups are designed to teach students new skills and strategies, which can assist them with learning productive ways of expressing their thoughts and feelings in order to improve their functioning both at school and at home. All groups offered are free of charge. If you DO NOT want your child participating in these groups, please submit the attached opt-out form by 10/9/26 to the school.

Also, please see the attachments for big changes to Ohio's Medicaid plan.  This will affect many of our families at Diamond.

Important Reminders

Uniforms: as a reminder, students are expected to remain in uniform throughout the entire school day. At Diamond Oaks, we are preparing students for professional careers, and part of that preparation includes maintaining a professional appearance while adhering to workplace and safety expectations. Hoodies are not permitted on campus because they can create safety concerns in many of our career technical labs and do not align with professional dress standards. Homeschool spirit wear may be worn on Fridays only; however, some programs may require students to wear specific attire during lab activities to comply with safety protocols. We appreciate your support in helping students develop the professional habits and workplace readiness skills that will contribute to their future success.  Please see the attachment for more information.

Outside Food & Drink: just a reminder, due to federal guidelines, students are not permitted to bring in outside food or drink without permission. The only exception is packed lunches. All liquids need to be in personal thermoses.

Cellphones: students are not permitted to use cellphones except at lunch.  This is in accordance with state law.  Please see the attachment for more information.

Our Automotive Mechanic juniors have been learning how to perform entry level tasks that would be involved in a position as a lube technician. These tasks include performing 27-point inspections, checking fluid levels, changing oil, rotating tires, finding service repair procedures, and changing air filters. This week we have also begun changing tires and balancing tires. All juniors have earned their OSHA-10 certification. As the semester progresses, students will begin working on steering and suspension systems. Seth Ryan has demonstrated a great work ethic and desire to learn in the classroom.

Our Automotive Mechanic seniors have been working with our A-Tech set-board trainers since the start of the school year. These set-boards have allowed students to build and test various automotive circuits. Students have learned how to use digital multimeters to perform applied voltage, voltage drop, resistance, and amperage tests. The students use these skills to diagnose faults within the set-boards. As the semester progresses, students will begin to study wiring schematics and perform wiring repairs. We are also proud to share that ten of our seniors are currently on job placement at local dealerships and independent shops. Fred Kuntz has demonstrated a tremendous desire to grow in his career in the automotive field.
