Happy October!
It was another busy week at Live Oaks. It was wonderful to see so many of you at conferences and the college fair last night. Thank you for coming out. This week we had the Blood Drive on Thursday, a few schools had their Cap and Gown vendor come to meet with students. The other vendors are scheduled in the next weeks. We've been signing homecoming guest forms like it's our second job! I love that students have made new friends that they want to take to their home school dance with them. We love when students stay connected with their home school for all the fun activities. I LOVE when they debrief the ups and downs of football and soccer games, cross country Prs and other competitions at lunch with me. I know the students dislike the cell phone legislation, but I love the increased interaction between students.
October will also be busy. Follow us on social media to see the day-to-day accomplishments of your students. The end of the first quarter is Thursday, October 15, and students do not have school on October 16. Our JROTC Wolfpack athletes are preparing for nationals coming up toward the end of October. It's no accident that they are always nationally competitive; they train incredibly hard.
My arms and hands are grateful for the 3-day weekend as our Health Tech seniors are completing the Phlebotomy practice. I'm a VERY honest patient and they are doing a great job. I hope you enjoy your weekend, as well.
