The Veterinary Science Juniors have completed their Species Project, an in-depth research assignment on the animal husbandry needs of their assigned species, and are presenting their findings to the class this week. They have also completed their OSHA training and are now OSHA certified. Juniors have started hands-on animal husbandry, coming in each morning to clean housing and socialize with our lab animals — including 23 cats we're now caring for through a new partnership with the League for Animal Welfare, helping them heal and get ready for adoption. Our lab has also grown recently, welcoming two new pet rats, a new rabbit, and a bearded dragon, giving juniors even more hands-on species experience right out of the gate. For the Junior Class, I want to spotlight Maj Trammel and Ja'Niyah Pruitt. Both have done a great job overall this year, bringing a great attitude to the lab every day. They're also excellent problem solvers and are always willing to lend a hand to their classmates.

The Veterinary Science Seniors have also completed their Species Project and are presenting their research alongside the juniors this week. Seniors have moved into daily health checks and administering medications, applying their skills across our growing animal population — including our 23 resident cats and the newest additions to the lab. They've also been getting valuable handling experience with our daily staff dog visitors, adding to the variety of patients they work with. I also want to introduce my two new Senior Student Aides, Corie Bruce and Paige Banzhaf. Both have jumped into the role and are already putting their knowledge to work helping with lab tasks and supporting our new students.

Diamond Oaks students had the privilege of showing their Diamond pride while participating in the Harvest Home Parade in Cheviot on Thursday, September 10. Despite the rainy weather, our students enthusiastically represented the school and community as they marched along the parade route.

Highlights included our Equine Science students riding horses, JROTC cadets proudly marching to cadence, and students from a variety of programs coming together to showcase the spirit and opportunities that make Diamond Oaks unique.

A sincere thank you to everyone who participated in the parade and to those who came out to support and cheer on our students. Events like the Harvest Home Parade provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community, celebrate school pride, and represent Diamond Oaks in a positive way. We are proud of our students for their dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment, rain or shine!

Thirty Diamond Oaks JROTC cadets from Harrison High and Middle School recently participated in the Army Raiders Competition held at Miami University, demonstrating teamwork, determination, and leadership throughout the event. Competing against other talented teams, our cadets proudly represented Diamond Oaks and showcased the skills they have developed through their training.

Congratulations to two of our cadets who earned individual honors by placing second and third in their respective events. We are incredibly proud of all 30 participants for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Their performance reflects the strong character, perseverance, and teamwork that define the Diamond Oaks JROTC program. Well done, cadets!
