MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

Happy Friday, Live Oaks Families,

Not to sound like a broken record, but there are always so many great things going on at Live Oaks! This week we celebrated two FCCLA regional winners, credentials earned in several labs, and multiple job interviews. My absolute favorite part of my job is having the students share these successes with me when they see me throughout the day. Next Friday is the last day of the third quarter, so teachers will stop taking any late work toward the beginning of the week. Specific deadlines are communicated by the teacher. Students should be getting outstanding assignments completed this weekend. We are in the home stretch and we hope that students finish strong.

Speaking of this weekend, it's PROM TIME!!! If your child is coming to prom, please remind them to make good choices and be safe. We will not open the doors until 7:00 so there is no need to arrive early. Should a student leave prior to 11:00, they will not be allowed to return. If you're picking your child up, please be there promptly at 11:00. I'll be waiting with any student without a ride and that is WAY past my bedtime so that's a fully selfish reminder! HA!

The lottery for next year's new students took place this week. Once acceptance information becomes available, we will start getting ready for our new students while we wrap things up with our seniors. Seniors need to check emails regularly to ensure they are getting all the necessary information from their home school and from Live Oaks. Our 2 years with students go by so quickly.

As always, thank you for sharing your children with us!

Dr. Amy Crouse
Dean of Instruction

INVEST IN OUR STUDENTS' FUTURE

Great Oaks Career Campuses do not charge tuition or school fees as part of our mission to make career technical education more widely available. Other than uniforms, there are no costs to participate in our programs. This year, instead of asking for traditional school fees as required at your home schools, we're
inviting you to invest directly in something that makes a real impact—our Career
& Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).

These student-led organizations develop leadership, technical skills, and real-world readiness that prepare our students for college and careers. From competitions to community servlce to professional development, your support fuels everything we do.

SCHOOL CLOSING NOTIFICATIONS

We want to make sure you're well-informed in the event of a school closure, such as those due to inclement weather. Knowing where to look for official announcements will help keep everyone safe and minimize confusion.

How We Notify You of a Closure
If Live Oaks Career Campus must close, we will send out notifications using these methods:
  • ParentSquare (Primary Method): This is our most direct and fastest communication channel. You'll receive a notification immediately.
  • School Website: Check the homepage for an alert or banner announcement.
  • Local News Stations: The closure will be reported through local television and radio outlets.
To ensure you get the quickest notification of any school closure, please take a moment to verify that you are actively receiving notices from us via ParentSquare.
  • If you're not receiving them, or are unsure, please log into your account or contact the school office for assistance.
  • Ensuring your contact information is up-to-date in ParentSquare is the most effective way to stay informed.
Inclement Weather Note
If the closure is due to inclement weather, please remember:
  • Follow your student's affiliated high school's closure/delay announcements.
  • If Live Oaks remains open but your student cannot attend, please contact their instructors for assignment updates.
Your cooperation in keeping your contact information current helps us keep everyone safe and informed!

SCHOOL COMMUNICATION

Parent Square Logo
About ParentSquare

To make sure we have consistent communication with parents and staff, Great Oaks Career Campuses uses ParentSquare, a safe and secure platform for all school-to-home communication. We use it to send important robocalls, text messages, and emails from the district and individual schools.

An account is automatically created for each parent using the preferred email address and phone number that they have on file with their Live Oaks. We encourage all parents to register for and log in to their accounts to set up their notification preferences.
