Diamond Oaks Weekly Update
|
Diamond Oaks Families, Students, and Staff,
As we move into the final stretch of the school year, I want to encourage all of our students—especially our seniors—to finish strong. Now is the time to stay focused, complete those remaining assignments and projects, and show the very best of what you’ve worked so hard to develop. For our seniors on the path to graduation, every effort you make now brings you one step closer to crossing that stage.
We’re also looking forward to an outstanding Career Day ahead. This is a valuable opportunity for seniors to meet with college and industry representatives, sharpen their interview skills, and learn from seminars led by professionals in business and the workforce. Plus, students will have a chance to win prizes just for participating and engaging in the experience—so make the most of it!
I’m incredibly proud to share that our DA&D students have been recognized once again in the 2026 Print Excellence Awards, presented by the Graphic Media Alliance (GMA), representing Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan. This achievement highlights the exceptional creativity, craftsmanship, and professionalism our students bring to every project. Congratulations to all who competed—you continue to raise the bar.
As we celebrate these accomplishments and prepare for big events, let’s also remember the importance of presenting ourselves professionally. Please be sure you are wearing your school uniforms consistently and representing our programs with pride. Our appearance sets the tone for the standard of excellence we expect each day.
Let’s finish the year with purpose, pride, and professionalism. I’m excited to see all that you will accomplish.

On Friday, March 27th, Diamond Oaks will team up with law enforcement agencies and other emergency services to practice our building's response to a simulated emergency scenario. Emergency vehicles and K-9s will be present. This type of training helps Diamond hone its response and adjust procedures as needed in emergency situations.

Senior Ceremony is closer than you think! This year Diamond Oaks’ Senior Ceremony will be on May 12, at NKU, with the ceremony starting at 4:00 PM. As the date gets closer, more details will follow. Seniors will be required to wear a graduation gown to senior ceremony. Even if your student will not be participating in their homeschool graduation, he or she will still need to order a gown. Our Diamond Oaks JROTC Drill Team arrived at the Ohio National Guard Armory in Woodlawn ready to compete against six other schools from the South Tri‑County area. After months of dedication, discipline, and hard work, our cadets proudly earned 3rd Place Overall—an impressive achievement, especially since we fielded only two competing teams while other schools brought as many as eight.
Since early December, our cadets have spent long hours perfecting every command and movement. Even on days school was closed, they showed up with determination and heart. Though there were moments of struggle and frustration, their commitment never wavered.
Our two competing teams included:
-
Team A: Elijah Snyder, Michelle Savage, Madison Barnes, and Alex Venia
-
Team B: Tristen Hogeback, Emerson Meyer, Jessie Napier, and Van Evers
We also want to recognize Alissa Mosley, Jamie Krause, and Elijah Cole‑Mauer, who attended every practice despite not making the final roster. Their willingness to continue sharpening their skills and support wherever needed reflects the true spirit of the JROTC program.
On competition day, cadets arrived at 6:00 a.m. on a Saturday—unprompted—immediately grabbing their flags and rifles to practice before the bus arrived. After energizing themselves with music and team bonding, they entered the Armory poised and professional. Even with nerves high and well‑known competitors like Live Oaks on the scene, our cadets carried themselves with confidence.
Due to last‑minute changes in the lineup, Team A performed earlier than expected but delivered a nearly flawless routine—sharp, precise, and executed with pride. Team B followed shortly after. Despite less practice time, they rose to the occasion and exceeded expectations with their strong performance.
Throughout the day, the teams encouraged one another and embraced the experience. During the mini “Knock Out” drill challenge, where one misstep eliminates a cadet, Emerson Meyer advanced to the Top 10, showcasing excellent focus and discipline.
When it came time for awards, anticipation filled the room. Cheers erupted as Diamond Oaks earned 2nd Place in Color Guard Squad, proudly accepted by Michelle Savage. Moments later, even louder celebrations followed as we were announced 3rd Place Overall in the entire competition. Cadets jumped, hugged, and celebrated like one united family—each knowing they had truly earned this victory.
After a group photo and many well‑deserved congratulations, the team wrapped up their day with a celebratory Chick‑fil‑A meal and music that matched their excitement.
The 2025–2026 Drill Team demonstrated that hard work, perseverance, and teamwork lead to success. Their dedication embodies the core values of JROTC: leadership, commitment, citizenship, and pride in representing the United States of America.
Congratulations to our exceptional drill team—we’re proud of you and excited for what comes next!

Four Diamond IT students participated in the AI Prompt-a-Thon hosted by Hamilton County Educational Service Center on Monday, March 2, 2026. The students participating were:
D'nyla (Tori) Jordan (IT Senior)
Clayton Picchioni (IT Senior)
Elijah Snyder (IT Senior)
Zander Wahl (IT Senior)
This event allowed students to learn how AI is being used to solve problems in real-world situations today and experience this firsthand by creating an AI solution for a career field in which they were interested. These students chose the field of Cybersecurity/IT and chose to create an AI tool called AICheckIt, a tool to help businesses and individuals both detect potential social engineering attacks as well as educate users to help avoid future such attacks.
They applied problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills to create the AI tool and to prepare a short presentation given to a panel of judges who provided valuable feedback to the students preparing for a career in information technology. Students exhibited NextReady Skilled Professional skills in their approach to this challenge and truly developed something that shows how the power of AI can be used in a positive way in the field of IT.

The 2026 Diamond Oaks Senior Career Day is Friday, March 6th. Students will participate in mock interviews, visit a career/college fair with area employers and schools, and attend customized informational sessions about life after graduation. Students who complete all requirements for the day will be automatically entered into a prize drawing during senior lunch for gift cards, electronics, and more!
The event runs from 7:50am through senior lunch and takes the place of the regular AM schedule. All students in a regular English 12 class are required to attend as this event is the culminating grade for 3rd quarter. This includes placement and late arrival students who are in a regular class (not online). It is at the English teacher's discretion to exempt a student from the event. If you are unsure if your student is required to attend, please contact their English teacher.
Students are expected to dress professionally in interview attire for the event. We are welcoming 100+ community members to our campus and want to represent Diamond Oaks in the best way we can. If a student cannot wear interview attire, they are required to wear their official Diamond Oaks uniform.
If you have questions or would like to volunteer or contribute to the day's activities, please contact Anne Bangert at bangerta@greatoaks.com or (513) 612-7024. Thank you!
Sincerely,
The Diamond Oaks English Department
