The Health Academy offers students the chance to explore health careers and pursue a pathway that fits their goals. In the first semester, you’ll learn patient care fundamentals, build medical vocabulary, and prepare for Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) certification. CNAs work in homes, rehab centers, hospitals, clinics, adult daycares, and assisted living facilities.
At semester break, you’ll choose one of two pathways. The Health Technology program prepares you for certifications in high-demand areas such as patient care technician, medical assistant, or phlebotomist. If eligible for High School Practical Nursing, you’ll study patient care, data collection, human development, pharmacology, and medication administration, applying these skills in real-world clinical settings. This pathway prepares you for the NCLEX-PN exam, leading to licensure as a practical nurse (LPN).
