FOOD SERVICE

Proper nutrition is essential for success in school and in life. The Great Oaks Food Service staff are dedicated to ensuring that all students have healthy, fresh, delicious, and nutritious meals. Each cafeteria strives to promote healthy eating habits among students by combining whole grains, low-fat dairy options, fresh fruits and vegetables and low sodium products in every breakfast and lunch per the USDA National School Lunch Program guidelines. More information about the National School Lunch Program is available here.

Great Oaks participates in the USDA’s National School Lunch Program. Each campus cafeteria offers breakfast and lunch each day as well as ala carte items. Free and Reduced application link is available below under Ohio Resources, through the Payschools Central App as well as a hardcopy in Student Services. School counselors can assist with this process as necessary. Everyone is encouraged to fill out an application form (income eligibility guidelines are available below). Translated copies of the Free and Reduced application in multiple languages are available upon request.

Please note: Home school district's Free & Reduced Applications DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY TRANSFER to Great Oaks Career Campuses. If your student attends one of the Great Oaks campuses, a separate application should be completed for the Great Oaks School District.

  • Students that have applied for and been approved for free or reduced-price meals may receive one breakfast and one lunch meal daily. A breakfast meal includes grain, meat/meat alternates, fruit, milk, and multiple entrée choices are available every morning. A lunch meal includes grain, meat/meat alternates, vegetable, fruit, and milk. Multiple choices of entrees each day include the “main entrée”, pizzas, a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, salads as well as a variety of “grab n’ go” options. Several choices of fresh fruits and vegetables are offered daily. Ala carte items are also available for purchase after meals have been served. All snacks follow the Federal Smart Snack Regulations.

  • Campus monthly menus are available on each campus website page. Menus are subject to change based on product availability.

  • The Great Oaks cafeterias are cashless; cash is not accepted at checkout during meals. Great Oaks uses the PaySchools Central Quick App for student lunch accounts and directions for setting up an account are available on the Campuses’ website. Students will need to add money to their PaySchools Central App account electronically or by taking cash to their campus registrar prior to school starting and throughout the school year, prior to mealtime.

    • Students may charge up to 3 meals when funds are unavailable on their account.
    • Only reimbursable meals may be charged (no a la carte items, extra entrees, or beverages).
    • All charges must be repaid the next school day.
    • Students are encouraged to speak with the Cafeteria Manager if they need assistance with meals.

Please note: Any charges incurred before or during the application process, are the responsibility of the student, parent, or guardian, regardless of the result of the application. Therefore, we strongly encourage families to submit an application as soon as possible to avoid meal charges.

  • Staff that wish to utilize the cafeteria services should also use the PaySchools Central App to purchase meals and food items. Please email Jennifer Waldeck at waldeck.jennifer@greatoaks.com to set up an individual account for the cafeteria.
