Diamond Oaks Weekly Update
|
This week, I saw the Skilled Professional pillar of our Great Oaks NextReady initiative come to life across our campus. Skilled professionalism calls on students to set positive examples, exceed minimum expectations, master their career content, and develop the skills needed to compete in today’s workforce—and our students delivered.
I observed students actively working toward industry credentials in their labs and practicing diligently for upcoming CTSO competitions this Friday. I also had the pleasure of attending a Business Professionals of America awards celebration, where eight students were recognized—several earning multiple awards. In addition, our instructors continue to incorporate NextReady lessons into their curriculum, reinforcing professionalism and supporting student success everyday.
These moments reflect the high standard our students and staff set and the bright future our Diamond Oaks students are building.

Great Oaks Career Campuses is completing a comprehensive local needs assessment (CLNA). The CLNA review process helps career‑technical schools in Ohio evaluate how well their programs serve students. Every two years, we review student data and gather feedback from families, students, staff, and business & community partners to ensure our programs stay strong and meet the needs of all learners. Your input helps Great Oaks prioritize improvements and set long-term goals for our career programs. Feedback ensures that all students have equal access to hands-on learning and helps us remove barriers to learning. By sharing your feedback, you help Great Oaks ensure our programs reflect student needs and provide the equitable support necessary to prepare students for high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand careers. We ask that you please take a few minutes to complete the survey below by Friday, January 30th. Your time and input are greatly valued.

Our program has been buzzing lately, and the excitement is contagious! Juniors are absolutely crushing it in lab group rotations, diving into hands-on learning with curiosity, teamwork, and plenty of enthusiasm. As they rotate through different roles, students are discovering new strengths, trying out real-world skills, and learning what it truly means to work as a team in a lab setting.
Not to be outdone, our seniors are leading the way like pros. From tackling advanced lab duties to taking charge of weekly health checks, they’re showing responsibility, confidence, and initiative every step of the way. Their leadership has been inspiring, and it’s clear they’re preparing themselves for life beyond the classroom.
And yes….. it’s that exciting time of year! College acceptance letters are rolling in, and we’re celebrating big milestones with our seniors as their next chapters come into focus. Meanwhile, juniors are starting to dream ahead, exploring colleges and getting excited about the wide world of careers in veterinary medicine and other health related careers. From animal care to specialized veterinary paths, curiosity is growing and future goals are taking shape.
Overall, our program is full of momentum, motivation, and meaningful learning. Students aren’t just gaining skills - they’re building confidence, leadership, and a vision for their future. We can’t wait to see where their hard work takes them next!
I would like to congratulate the following students: Nic Bresser and Addy Wilson for discovering their passions and overcoming fears in lab. Also, Quinton Pelcha for always assisting his classmates and exemplifying the true meaning of teamwork and leadership.
