12/11/2025 Diamond Oaks Weekly Update

Posted Date: 12/11/25 (07:00 PM)

Good Evening Diamond Oaks Families, Students, and Staff:

From the Dean: Recently, I was asked to share a few words describing Diamond Oaks for a scholarship event. To keep it brief was nearly impossible. When I think about Diamond Oaks, I’m overwhelmed by the incredible opportunities we provide—our innovative programming, industry-recognized credentials, and hands-on work-based learning opportunities.

I think of our students who are becoming NextReady, gaining the skills and confidence needed for college and career success. I think of our talented instructors who guide and inspire them every day. I think of our feeder school districts that entrust us with their students so they can grow and thrive. And finally, I think of the families who choose Diamond Oaks, believing in the power of career-tech education to shape their student’s future.

It’s always difficult to capture everything Diamond Oaks represents in just a few words—but one thing is certain: we are proud to prepare students for what’s next and so thankful to serve this community.

Health Tech. Lab Focus (Lab Instructors Ms. Scott and Ms. Hannon): Health Tech Juniors are currently in their clinical rotations at Shawnee Springs and we are so proud of the care they are giving the residents.  Ms. Hannon would like to highlight Jalani Merritt and Karmen Aguilar as skilled professionals showing confidence in their skills and going above and beyond what is asked.

Seniors just took their Medical Assisting certification test and did quite well!  Jade Foley passed with flying colors and is currently in orientation at Children's Hospital for a CNA position! This is quite an accomplishment as they usually do not hire high school students. Congratulations Jade!!  Ms. Hannon would also like to highlight Realyn Dixion for passing her certification test but also for her accountability in class and willingness to always help others!!

Ms. Scott would like to highlight the following students:

Leahbella Dixon — Skilled & Confident Professional (Senior)

Leahbella shows pride in everything she creates. She works hard to master the career-focused skills we practice each day and demonstrates real dedication to improvement. Her commitment to building confidence in her technical skills makes her a standout Professional in the classroom. She participates in HOSA and has a bright future ahead of her!

Halle Durkin  — Accountable and Always Reliable! (Junior)

Halle takes ownership of her work and follows through with every responsibility. She keeps her promises, makes ethical choices, and always sets a positive example. Her strong sense of accountability shows what it truly means to be an effective Employee.
