11/26/25 Diamond Oaks Weekly Update
Good Evening Diamond Oaks Families, Students, and Instructors:
As we gather during this season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to reflect on the many blessings that surround us. Personally, I am thankful for the return of my own family from across the state and the East Coast—a reminder of the importance of connection and togetherness. Professionally, I am deeply honored to serve as Dean of the Diamond Oaks community, a place where growth, dedication, and service shine every day.
I am continually inspired by the tremendous progress our students make, fueled by the steadfast commitment of our instructors and the unwavering support of families. Together, you create an environment where learning thrives and futures are built.
This year, I have been especially moved by the outreach efforts of our staff and students—from organizing food drives and hosting Hoxworth blood donations to volunteering at community events like the Turkey Trot. These acts of service reflect the heart of Diamond Oaks: a community that cares deeply and gives generously.
I am equally impressed by the way our students prepare for life beyond these walls. Through NextReady lessons and active participation in Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) such as SkillsUSA, BPA, HOSA, and FFA, they are developing the skills, confidence, and leadership that will carry them into bright futures.
As I look around, I am in awe of the talent, dedication, and spirit that define Diamond Oaks. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. May this Thanksgiving bring joy, peace, and gratitude to you and your loved ones.

No School: Diamond Oaks will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday Wednesday, 11/26 – Friday, 11/28.
End Of Course Testing: Beginning Tuesday, December 2nd, Diamond’s Fall testing window for end-of-course (EOC) assessments opens. The window will close January 6, 2025. There are six EOC assessments: Algebra I, Geometry, English Language Arts II, Biology, Government, and U.S. History. Each student needs to take all the latter EOC assessments once they have completed the associated course. In the event students did not pass the English Language Arts II or Algebra I assessments with a 684 or higher, students must attempt the assessment once more. Students who need to take an EOC assessment will be notified on Monday.

Food Drive: To support families during this difficult time, Diamond Oaks students and staff are sponsoring a food drive. We are collecting nonperishable items such as canned vegetables, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, and boxed meals. Bags will be distributed weekly, and collections will continue through December 19. If your family needs assistance, please contact your student’s school counselor. If you are able to contribute, please send nonperishable items with your student.
Additionally, Kroger in Dent will support our drive by setting up a table in their main lobby on Friday, December 5, to collect items from customers. If you live or shop in the area, please help spread the word. Thank you!

🎙️ Welcome to The Diamond Dialogue, Episode 4: Experience and New Perspectives
Get ready for an episode that sparkles with insights! In Episode 4 of the Diamond Dialogue podcast, we're chatting with a brilliant group of educators who share decades of educational experience and fresh perspectives.
We had the privilege of sitting down with two of our beloved veteran teachers: Sandra Ramey (Digital Arts & Design), whose creative vision has helped students shape countless portfolios, and Jill Klusman (Math), who masterfully helps students calculate their futures. We also visited the lab of our newest faculty member, Echo Howard (Dental Assisting), who offers a fascinating look at post-Oaks pathways for her students.
It's a lively conversation about teaching, career prep, and what truly makes our school special. You won't want to miss the wisdom, the laughs, and the 'aha!' moments!

Auto Collision Lab Focus: Lonnie Marimon is Diamond’s Auto Collision instructor. He explains: our junior auto refinishing students are mastering the art of masking vehicles for refinishing while working toward their I-CAR Refinishing Certification. A special shout-out to Kyle Oder, who exemplifies all five pillars of the Next Ready Skill Sets and consistently sets a high standard for his peers.
Meanwhile, the senior structural class is focused on learning to read and write accurate automotive estimates for collision repair. The senior class is currently working on earning their I-CAR certification for Repair Planning. Kudos to Lucas Orbegozo for his exceptional effort and commitment to the five pillars of Next Ready Skill Sets.
Kind Regards,
