Posted Date: 11/07/25 (7:00 PM)
Hello Diamond Oaks Families, Students, and Staff
As fall settles in with all its vibrant glory, the changing leaves mirror the growth and transformation we see in our students every day. Just as the season evolves, so too do our learners—shaping their futures and exploring their chosen career paths with purpose and enthusiasm.
This week, we celebrate several exciting milestones and activities:
- ASVAB testing was completed for students considering a future in our nation’s military—an important step in career planning and self-discovery.
- Our JROTC Color Guard proudly represented Diamond Oaks at the Northern Kentucky University basketball game, showcasing discipline and school spirit.
- Welding students earned their Forklift certifications at Bobcat Enterprises, adding valuable credentials to their skillsets.
- CareerX students ventured out on career exploration field trips, gaining firsthand insight into potential professions.
- Meanwhile, construction crews are preparing to demolish old structures, paving the way for exciting new programming and facility improvements that will better serve our students and staff.
As we embrace the season of change, we remain committed to supporting every student’s journey toward success. Thank you for being part of the Diamond Oaks community!

Families in Need: To provide additional support to our families during this difficult time, Diamond Oaks students and staff are sponsoring a food drive in partnership with Hamilton County ESC. We will begin collecting nonperishable items such as canned vegetables, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, and boxed meals on November 12. Please avoid glass containers or perishable items.
Bags will be distributed to students every Friday starting November 14 and collections will continue through December 19. If your family needs assistance, please contact your student’s school counselor as soon as possible.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to Diamond’s School Counselors if you require assistance: Dr. Freeman, Ms. Chapman, or Mr. Poehner.
Digital Arts Lab Focus: The Digital Arts & Design program had a fantastic 1st quarter with Junior students moving from introductory to accomplished in their skill levels with Adobe Illustrator. Students are beginning to prepare for their first Professional Adobe Certification exams with testing scheduled to begin next week. Now, students have the knowledge to take their drawings from their sketchbooks, scan them in, and refine their art for printmaking, where they are currently making stickers and scientific illustrations.
Meanwhile Seniors are already preparing for the real world with 1 student on job placement, and 4 others who participated in Graphic Media Alliances' “Fore the Win” networking event at Top Golf Mid-Oct. Seniors also toured the UC Clermont campus to learn about Media Arts majors as well as the Cincinnati Art Museum to learn about careers as full time artists. They are presently studying the Adobe InDesign program in lab and are expected to schedule their 1st certification attempts after Thanksgiving break.
Congratulations to Astrid Rodriguez (Mt. Healthy, Junior) and Alice Schmidt (Taylor, Senior) who both earned the prestigious “Selections Scholarship” award from Mt. St. Joseph University last month. Their art is currently on display at the MSJ Campus Gallery through mid-December
And congratulations to our DA&D Instructor, Ms. Ramey, who is also a local STEM teacher at IFLY and was recently recognized as the “STEM Teacher of the Year" by IFLY Detroit where she participated in a Military Appreciation event with the Golden Knights Exhibition team this week.
Thanks,
