12/18/2025 Diamond Oaks Weekly Update

Posted Date: 12/18/25 (07:00 PM)

Good Evening Diamond Oaks Families, Students, and Staff:

As we close out the first semester at Diamond Oaks, I am proud to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our students. From earning industry-recognized credentials to winning scholarships that pave the way for future success, their hard work and determination have truly paid off. Our Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) have been active and thriving, giving students opportunities to lead, compete, and grow. In addition, student-led events like our Holi-Joy celebration showcased creativity, collaboration, and the strong sense of community that makes our school special.

As we head into the second semester, we look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to get students NextReady.  For now, enjoy a well-deserved winter break—rest, recharge, and return refreshed and ready for the exciting opportunities ahead.

Thank you for your continued support in making Diamond Oaks a place where students achieve and thrive!

Kind Regards,

IT Academy NextReady Skilled Professionals:

A huge shoutout to the following students for displaying NextReady skills as a Skilled Professional for earning an industry-recognized credential during this 1st semester!

CompTIA Tech+

Fardowsa Abdulqadir (Junior)

Tori (D'nyla) Jordan (Senior)

Jaleah Jones (Junior)

Clayton Picchioni (Senior)

Zander Wahl (Senior)

For those who know the IT career tech pathway, many of the credentials in this pathway are not easy and take commitment and dedication to study and prepare for success.

In addition, there are currently another 3-5 students who will ready to test for the CompTIA Tech+ certification when we return from the holiday break. Plus, students are also actively studying for the CompTIA A+ certification and the Microsoft Office Specialist Excel 365 certification.

Congratulate these students on their accomplishments this semester!

Diamond Oaks Podcast Episode #5: As we wrap up the first semester of school, we also wrap up our final podcast episode of 2025, Diamond Dialogue 2025, Episode 5. Take a sneak peek at some of the hot topics we'll be dropping in January.

BPA Workplace Skills Assessments:

Students in the Information Technology program completed workplace skills assessments for competing in the Business Professionals of America Region 1 Competition. Overall, 23 juniors and 16 seniors competed in a variety of workplace skills assessments on the following IT concepts:

  • Information Technology Concepts
  • Computer Networking Concepts
  • Network Administration Using CISCO
  • Server Administration Using Microsoft
  • Linux Operating System Fundamentals
  • Device Configuration and Troubleshooting

In addition, IT students also signed up for judged competitions at the BPA Region 1 Competition on Saturday, January 10, 2026, for the following skill areas:

  • Human Resource Management
  • Interview Skills
  • Python Programming

We are excited for our Information Technology students and look forward to seeing who moves on to the State Competition in February in Columbus

Exercise Science Lab Focus:

The Exercise Science Juniors have been learning how to identify, evaluate, treat, and rehab injuries of various body systems.  The juniors have steadily been working on mastery of the anatomy, taping, and bracing of each segment of the body from the foot to the knee and up.  This week we have begun to check off their mastery of the elbow unit.  I have been very impressed with this year’s juniors as they have quickly picked up the material being presented and work well together in lab.  As the year progresses, we will be working to master higher level health care content to get them ready for senior years Physical Therapy Technician, Certified Personal Trainer, and Certified Nutrition Coaching Certifications. Madalyn Trimpe and Zach Tilling have been a few of the standout students that have begun to work ahead on each unit and help to teach their classmates the higher level skills. I am very excited to see how this class performs overall as they moving into the 2nd semester and Senior year. I feel they are on track to do great things and have huge success.

The Exercise Science Seniors have been working diligently to achieve their Certified Personal Training Certifications after completing their Physical Therapy Technician Certifications this past September.   This year’s current senior class has the most students to ever be certified as Personal Trainers prior to the end of 2nd semester with 10 students.  With 3 stand outs already working in the field.  We will continue to work on getting the rest of the senior class certified and place as the 2nd semester begins.  McKenzie Marcum, Sophie Schnieder, and Elisa Schierloh have been furthering their careers at Crunch Fitness. I am extremely excited for this senior group as they have performed extremely well as a class and are self-motivated individuals that are diligently pursuing their post-secondary goals.
