Hello Diamond Oaks Students, Families, and Staff Members:

Below are updates from Diamond Oaks for this week.

Report Cards: It is difficult to believe that first quarter has come to an end. First quarter grades will be posted in ProgressBook by 10/24. If you need assistance accessing grades, please reach out to Ms. Ricketts, ricketts.stephanie@greatoaks.com.

Parent-Teacher Conferences: parent-teacher conferences will be held on October 23, between the hours of 3:30 and 7:30 PM.  Conferences can be in-person or Zoom.  To schedule your appointment please go to https://pickatime.com/diamond.  For more information contact Ms. Hopkins at 513-612-7036 or hopkinsa@greatoaks.com.   The Conference Night Flyer, which contains instructions is attached to this post.

Diamond Oaks in the Enquirer: Diamond Oaks is featured in The Enquirer for its construction projects and program additions. These projects will help Diamond further meet the growing demand for a trained workforce. The article is entitled, “Green Township’s Diamond Oaks adding space for Aviation, Equine, Welding: Going Up,” by Patricia Gallagher Newberry. You can read the article via the following link: https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2025/10/16/what-programs-is-diamond-oaks-expanding/86437659007/

Senior Ceremony & Gowns: this year Diamond Oaks’ Senior Ceremony will be on May 12, at NKU, with the ceremony starting at 4:00 PM.  As the date gets closer, more details will follow.   Seniors will be required to wear a graduation gown to senior ceremony.  Even if your student will not be participating in their homeschool graduation, he or she will still need to order a gown.  Graduate Services will return on 10/28 to collect order forms.  Extra packets are in Student Services. Additionally online and phone ordering are available.  If there are issues with ordering gowns, please contact your student’s counselor.

Pictures: Student pictures will be taken at Diamond by Ritchie’s Photography on Monday, October 20th for juniors (8 AM – 12 PM), and Tuesday, October 21st for seniors (12 PM – 2:18 PM).  Students will be permitted to change out of uniform for pictures but will need to change back into uniform once their photographs are taken.  There will be no retakes or make-up days.  Attached is the order form for Ritchie’s Photography.

Program Focus (Diamond Oaks JROTC): This week’s program focus is on JROTC.  While JROTC is not a lab, it is a unique program that instills the value of citizenship through a U.S. Army cadet curriculum.  The instructors are Chief Moyer and CSM Sheward.

Chief Moyer and CSM Sheward explain, cadets have been issued uniforms and marched in the Harvest Home Fair Parade and the Harrison Homecoming Parade. They have performed Color Guards for 12 home football games at Finneytown, Harrison, Mount Healthy, Oak Hills and Taylor. More color guards will be taking place as the football season wraps up, then several Veterans Day events and the beginning of the college basketball season.

Several cadets got to experience Orienteering for the first time at Mt. Air Forrest Trail Fest. The Raider team competed in its first competition at Clermont Northeast HS and brought home 3 individual event 3rd Place trophies and the 3rd Place Overall trophy. Competitions are at Live Oaks this weekend and at Western Brown the next.

In the classroom first year cadets (LET 1s) have taken the Introducing JROTC, The Organization And Traditions Of Service Programs, Customs and Courtesies in JROTC & Social Etiquette and Manners lessons. Several cadets have passed the requirements to rank up one or two levels.

In addition to his being recognized for his contributions to the school’s IT department, Cadet Commander Elijah Snyder has been enthusiastically involved in all aspects of the JROTC program. He has been organizing many of the Color Guards, the parades, Orienteering, Raider Team practices and starting Drill Team Practices.
