Kathy Brauch

About me:

I graduated from the Live Oaks Animal Science program. During that time I worked at Petsmart and at Breezy Acres Boarding Kennel. I started working in the medical research labs at the University of Cincinnati for job placement my senior year. I stayed at UC after graduation; working full-time and taking classes at night. I received my Bachelors degree before leaving UC to teach at Great Oaks.

I have been in the industry for 12 years and have taught for 11 years.

What I love about teaching is working with students and watching them learn! Most students in the program have not handled any animals except cats and dogs. The students are usually apprehensive about snakes and rats but they quickly learn to love them. Teaching students how to properly work with animals and to be advocates for the care of animals is rewarding!

The best part of my classroom is my classroom is a positive environment where students are able to ask questions without criticism. The students are expected to work hard and try their best in the classroom and lab.
