John Cohmer
About me:
I was part of the gang, so to speak, at IBM when the personal computer was introduced on August 12th of 1981. Since that time I have worked in IT distribution, manufacturing, engineering, and diagnostics and repair, as well as system sourcing sales. In 2009, I came to Great Oaks and helped to launch the student 1:1 laptop computer program and help-desk operations and activities for all four campuses. In 2015, I retired from Great Oaks IT and took up partial ownership in a low power FM radio station in Wilmington, Ohio. Within a year I was contacted by Great Oaks and asked to return as an instructor. I am now in my fifth year of teaching and am enjoying it so much (Retirement was so overrated anyways.)
I have more than 40 years of experience in the industry and have taught for five years.
What I love about teaching is watching students discovering new technology and how to consider making a living working in the industry.
The best part of my classroom is students studying, taking, and passing IT certifications which will get them great jobs make them a lot of money in the future.
